WLSO EVENT: MR. W&L PARODY COMPETITION
Friday, February 19 at 7:00 p.m., Moot Court Room
Mr. W&L Law is a WLSO-sponsored fundraiser and proceeds will go to WLSO's summer scholarhsip for students whose unpaid internships help women and women's rights. Mr. W&L Law is intended to be a light-hearted, well-meant parody of the typical "Miss America"-style pageant, complete with a swimsuit competition, an evening wear segment, a talent portion, and an interview question. Contenders for the position of Mr. W&L are students who embody the true W&L Law spirit.
Cocktail hour from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. and the event starts at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are $5 at the door and the contestants will be vying for your donations during the cocktail hour. You can also buy tickets for a raffle, the prize of which is a date with the contestant of your choice! For more information, please contact Jocelyn Jezierny at firstname.lastname@example.org
WLSO EVENT: PAIRING FOR HOPE
Pairing for Hope is WLSO's annual wine and cheese tasting "paired" with a silent auction. Everyone is invited to sample cheeses from Cheese 2 You and wine from Washington Street Purveyors while bidding on items generously donated by local businesses and professors. Proceeds benefit Project Horizon and the WLSO Scholarship fund.
Clean out your closets for Free the Girls! WLSO will be sponsoring its annual bra drive where you can donate your gently used bras to those in need. Free the Girls is an organization that collects new and slightly-used bras for victims of human trafficking. The women then sell these bras, allowing them to gain independence and earn a living. See freethegirls.org
to learn more about this great cause. WLSO will place a donation bin under its bulletin board in the Brief Stop after Spring Break, and will collect bras throughout the rest of the spring semester. Updates will be posted on the WLSO Facebook page: facebook.com/WLU.WLSO
