Friday, March 27 at 2:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Moot Court Room
In 1975, the first class of women law students graduated from Washington and Lee University. Over the past 40 years, the legal profession has evolved to better support the female sex, yet disparities in pay and barriers to advancement have persisted.
In honor of an exceptional woman, WLSO is hosting its first annual Lara D. Gass Women in the Law Symposium. This year's symposium, moderated by Professor Sally Wiant, '78L, is designed to honor generations of W&L women law graduates through fruitful dialogue on the progress made by women in the law, the gender disparities that still plague the profession, and solutions to those disparities based on personal and professional experience. The outstanding panelists include members of the judiciary, current and retired, and practicing attorneys.

Contenders for the position of Mr. W&L are students who embody the true W&L Law spirit ("But what does that even mean" you might ask. We'll find out on April 3rd!).
Cocktail hour from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. and the event starts at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are $5 at the door and the contestants will be vying for your donations during the cocktail hour.
