Mock Trial Winners Announced
Story Abstract:On Friday, November 14th the Moot Court Executive Board hosted the final round of the Annual Mock Trial Competition. The annual competition provides participating students with the opportunity to plan litigation strategies, practice litigation techniques, prepare witnesses and conduct a trial.
This year's finalists were Amir Sadeghy, Matthew Gatewood, Zachary Desmond and M. Todd Carroll. Presiding over the competition was the Honorable Callie V.S. Granade, Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Alabama. Each finalist conducted one direct and one cross-examination and presented either an opening statement or a closing argument.
After a close competition, Judge Granade selected M. Todd Carroll as the runner-up and Amir Sadeghy as the winner of the 2003 Mock Trial Competition. The Moot Court Board wishes to congratulate Carroll and Sadeghy on their victories as well as thank all individuals who participated in all rounds of the competition.
