W&L’s greatest career resources are its alumni. Students are eager to learn more about particular practice areas and legal markets and alumni are a great resource for these students. If you are interested in getting involved, please contact our office at (540) 458-8535, or email@example.com. Below is a list of just a few ways you can get involved:
If you have a position, whether for summer, school-term or post-graduate, attend one of our on-campus or regional interview programs, or post the position for students and alumni on our secure online database. Email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
The Tucker Fellowship Program provides a modest stipend to new graduates as they engage in part-time volunteer work in government or the public interest. Tucker Fellows develop legal expertise and professional skills as they conduct a search for permanent employment. Your assistance in publicizing the Tucker Fellowship Program to colleagues or professional contacts who might be interested in the assistance of a Tucker Fellow, and in introducing new graduates to those in your professional network who might be of help in their search for a host site, will be greatly appreciated. Further detail is available here.
Students preparing for interviews can benefit from the feedback and advice of practicing alumni. Our office organizes a mock interview program on-campus during the spring semester. For more information, contact email@example.com. If you are unable to come to campus, but still wish to assist in this way, we also maintain a list of alumni willing to do mock interviews. Students can set up a mock interview in-person when they will be in the area, or conduct a telephonic mock interview. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org to sign up.
Throughout the year, we schedule panels and presentations on a variety of practice areas and career-related issues and we are always looking for alumni to share their expertise and unique perspectives. The panels vary from year to year, but if you have particular areas of focus and would be willing to speak, please contact email@example.com. We can arrange video conference presentations as well as in-person presentations.
A mentor can contribute greatly to a law student’s success. In order to foster mentor relationships between alumni and students, we have an Alumni Mentor Program. This program pairs alumni mentors with participating students in order to provide support and encouragement. For more information, or to register for this program, click here.
By signing up, your contact information will be entered into a secure, searchable database that students seeking advice on their job search, or information regarding particular practice areas, will be able to search. To volunteer, fill out the online registration form.
